A small narrow ship propelled by lateen sails or oars or both, used extensively along Mediterranean coasts, also used by immigrant fisherman in San Francisco and Monterrey Bays. The motor powered Monterrey Fishing Boat of a similar design followed, larger, with a cabin and space for some bunks below deck.
